It all started in 2017, when, at first, we saw a big potential in that house. There was something in that house that made us believe there could be something amazing.
It was a kind of left apart, its outdoors needed some changes and improvements, and, of course, its indoors… actually, its indoors was ruined. However, there was something deep inside us telling us that the house would have a great story, a story which started with the creation of a hostel.
In March, 2018, after some hard work, we received our first reservations. There were only two rooms ready to accommodate guests, but there were high expectations, and we were ready for this new adventure.
The process of transforming that house into a cozy and welcoming environment to travellers was just beginning, and it would be a long way. At that moment, the fresh paint smell was all together with the sound of the construction tools, and the house seemed to gain new life. Yet there was still a lot to do and work on.
Our first three guests in that hostel, still in construction, were like angels on our path. They gave us confidence, to show us that we were on the right path.
They were part of that very special process, and the gratitude they felt for believing in us from the beginning is something we will never forget.
Little by little, the rooms began to be ready, and I was no longer alone. I hired our first two employees, who joined the dream with all their energy and dedication. The work became lighter, and the house began to look like a home.
Little by little, the space that had previously seemed abandoned began to transform, gaining color and life. The walls, which had previously been empty and soulless, began to reflect the joy of the first guests and the friendships that were formed.
As the construction progressed, the number of employees grew, and the desire to expand began to emerge. We saw the potential to create more than just a hostel – we wanted to create a space that would be a meeting point, a place where people would “feel at home, away from home,” regardless of where they came from.
What started with just two rooms grew and evolved, and with that, the dream of opening more hostels began to become a concrete reality.
And if there is one thing we have learned throughout this journey, it is that dreams do not have a linear path. They require hard work, patience and a good dose of confidence in difficult times.
But, more than that, dreams become real when others believe in them too. Like those first guests, like our first team and like everyone who has been by our side on this journey.
We are ready to continue our story, expanding even further. Our success is, without a doubt, a story of all of us.
